This is common in conversational Korean, especially when correcting someone or insisting on information already stated. It appears often in dramas and everyday speech among friends, family, or coworkers, but can sound impatient or defensive depending on intonation.
What learners get wrong
Short for -(느)ㄴ다고 하니까. The first clause is something said - by you or by someone else - and the second is the response it produced, whether an action, a remark or a feeling: 같이 보자니까 이런 영화는 안 좋아한다고 하더라고요. The shape follows the sentence type quoted: -(으)라니까 for an instruction, -자니까 for a suggestion, -(느)냐니까 for a question.
