When you'd hear it
에 is an everyday particle used in speech and writing, including directions, schedules, and sentences with movement verbs such as 가다 and 오다. Learners encounter it with friends, in dramas, and in formal announcements alike.
What learners get wrong
With movement verbs, 에 marks the destination: 학교에 가다. 에서 usually marks the place where an action happens or the point someone leaves from: 학교에서 공부하다.
