When you'd hear it
-잖아 is a casual spoken sentence ending, common among friends, family, and characters in dramas. In more polite conversation, speakers usually use -잖아요; it can sound insistent when used to press a point.
What learners get wrong
The mirror image of -거든요: it reminds the listener of something you both already know. 어제 말했잖아요. Because of that it can carry a hint of reproach, so it is best kept for facts genuinely shared rather than used to correct someone.
