When you'd hear it

This pattern is especially common in formal announcements, speeches, written messages, and ceremonial or customer-facing language. The form 바랍니다 often appears in polite closing wishes, while casual conversation more often uses other expressions.

What learners get wrong

With a noun, use 을/를 바라다, but a verb clause normally uses -기를 바라다. Also, 바라다 is “to hope or wish,” whereas 바래다 usually means “to fade” or “to see someone off.”
