When you'd hear it

This is formal and especially common in written notices, reports, instructions, and official statements. It also appears in highly formal speech, but sounds stiff in casual conversation with friends.

What learners get wrong

Learners often use it as freely as -아서/어서, but -(으)므로 is markedly formal. Use -아서/어서 in ordinary conversation and reserve -(으)므로 for formal contexts.

You looked up -(으)므로 — Ipsae makes sure you still know it in three weeks.
