When you'd hear it

This is common in both conversation and writing, but it sounds more polished and structured than a simple list with -고. Learners often meet it in presentations, explanations, news, and formal written Korean, as well as in careful everyday speech.

What learners get wrong

The second part often includes 도, but 도 is not part of the pattern itself. Unlike -고, which simply links two facts, -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 emphasizes that the second fact is an additional, somewhat unexpected point.

You looked up -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 — Ipsae makes sure you still know it in three weeks.
