When you'd hear it

This is an old-fashioned, authoritative command, often heard from elders addressing children or in historical dramas. In modern speech it can sound theatrical, stern, or deliberately archaic, though it still appears in some literary or dramatic writing.

What learners get wrong

Unlike the ordinary command ending -아/어라, -거라 has an archaic or commanding tone; 오다 commonly uses 오너라 rather than 오거라.

You looked up -거라, 너라 — Ipsae makes sure you still know it in three weeks.
