When you'd hear it

Common in everyday conversation, including polite explanations and requests such as asking for a seat. It also appears in informal writing, messages, and spoken-style dialogue in dramas.

What learners get wrong

This attaches to nouns: use 이라서 after a consonant and 라서 after a vowel. It is different from -아서/어서, which attaches to verbs and adjectives.
