When you'd hear it

This is a colloquial spoken ending, often heard from older speakers or in regional- or rural-flavored dialogue. Learners may encounter it in dramas and warnings between people who know each other, but it is uncommon in formal writing.

What learners get wrong

Unlike -(으)ㄹ까 봐, which commonly describes worrying that something may happen, -(으)ㄹ라 often appears in a warning such as 다칠라 after a command or prohibition. It can also express concern about a possible situation, as in 왔을라.
