When you'd hear it
-아/어다가 is common in conversation and appears in everyday requests, plans, and explanations. Learners may encounter it in dramas and casual workplace speech when someone does one action and then uses or hands over its result.
What learners get wrong
Unlike -고, -아/어다가 often presents the result of the first action as something used, moved, or given in the second action. 케이크를 만들어다가 줬어요 means the cake made was then given, not merely that two actions happened in sequence.
