When you'd hear it

씩 is common in everyday speech and writing, especially with numbers, counters, and quantity words: 한 명씩, 두 개씩, 조금씩. It appears in instructions, classroom or workplace distribution, and descriptions of repeated actions such as 한 번씩.

What learners get wrong

씩 focuses on an amount or unit assigned to each person or occasion, while 마다 focuses on every person, place, or occurrence. Thus 한 권씩 means one book per person, whereas 매일마다 emphasizes every day.
