When you'd hear it
도 is an everyday particle used in conversation, messages, and writing, from casual speech with friends to polite workplace Korean. It commonly follows a noun or pronoun to add that item to an existing statement, as in 저도 and 친구도.
What learners get wrong
Learners often confuse 도 with 또: 도 adds another person or thing, while 또 commonly means “again” or “another.” 도 usually replaces a particle such as 은/는 or 이/가 rather than appearing alongside it.
