9 Korean phrases for a K-pop fansign or video call
A fansign gives you about a minute and a video call sometimes less, so the Korean you bring has to be short, polite and said without checking your phone. Idols hear the same five things from every fan, which is fine; it is the sixth thing, said clearly, that they remember.
Everything here is polite 요 speech. Fans are often older than the idol, but the relationship is a professional one on both sides, and 반말 to an idol you have never met sounds like a demand.
-
멀리서 왔어요.
meolliseo wasseoyo.
I came from far away.
Idols always ask where, so have the country ready: 미국에서 왔어요 (from the US), 브라질에서 왔어요 (from Brazil). Expect a 진짜요? (really?) and a question about the flight.

Between a fan and an idol this is the normal thing to say and carries no awkwardness; idols say it back to the whole line. Polite 요 keeps it fan love rather than a confession.
